Voting early by mail provides convenience for eligible voters in Dallas County by allowing individuals to receive and cast their ballots by mail rather than voting in person at a Vote Center.
The process involves requesting a mail ballot application, which, once approved, allows the voter to receive and return their ballot through postal services.
Apply Return Track
We must receive your application no later than the close of business 11 days before election day for both regular and FPCA applications (per H.B. 1927 law effective 9/1/2015). If the deadline falls on a weekend, the last day to apply is the preceding Friday. If the deadline falls on a state or federal holiday, the application must be received on the preceding business day.
When completing the Ballot by Mail Application, voters can either opt for an Annual ABBM or specify a single election for which they’d like to receive their Ballot by Mail and any resulting runoffs if indicated on their application.
To qualify for an Annual ABBM, individuals must meet one of the following criteria:
- 65 years or older
- Disabled
When submitting a Mail Ballot application, Dallas County Elections strongly advises applicants to include both their Identification Number and the last four digits of their Social Security Number (SSN). In cases where the applicant hasn’t been issued either of these numbers, they must indicate so by checking the designated box.
